Fly fishing didn’t begin for us as a business. It began as a way of seeing the world.

In 1995, Mark and I found ourselves in Maine, standing in an L.L. Bean store, buying two fly rods that could easily be mistaken for rebar. We headed to the Rangeley Lakes with more enthusiasm than experience, climbed into a canoe, and very nearly tipped it over. At one point, as the water turned rough, I looked at Mark and asked,

“Honey, is it supposed to be this violent?”

That was the moment everything changed.

The golf clubs stopped traveling with us. Every trip after that revolved around water. Rivers led to more rivers, lakes to more lakes, and destinations to relationships that would last decades. There was talk of fishing every stream in The Hundred Greatest Trout Streams in America. That never happened—because for every river in that book, we discovered three more nearby that didn’t make the list.

Those discoveries are the heart of this company.

Every destination we offer is one I know personally. Every lodge, outfitter, and guide has been carefully vetted, trained, and trusted through firsthand experience. These aren’t transactions or listings—they’re relationships built over years on the water. When you arrive, you’re stepping into places I would return to myself, with people I would fish alongside.

This company exists for one simple reason: to share the joy of fly fishing in its purest form. The joy of standing in remarkable water. The joy of being guided by people who truly know it. The joy of experiencing places that stay with you long after the trip ends.
